Wilmington, DE - Clinical Procurement Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • A managing position providing leadership and direction within the team, leading
  • project level procurement/outsourcing activities across functions and globally as assigned
  • Leading the evaluation and selection of external vendors, using recognized criteria, including audits and feedback from previously conducted projects
  • The role require a high level of interactive communication as well as cultural sensitivity to set clear direction for the team and when managing external service providers
  • Lead and support the scope and commercial aspects of the external delivery solution (Procurement) for Drug Projects, managing a portfolio of external partners and providers
  • Lead regional cross-functional teams and participate in the evaluation and selection of external vendors aligned to the clinical strategy, using recognized criteria, including:
o      audits feedback from previously conducted projects
o      Cost benefit analysis on planned acquisitions
o      Specifications, performance terms and / or acceptance criteria
o      Contracts
  • Drive supplier performance through the application of appropriate supplier management measures and methods
  • Within area of accountability act as a point of escalation for the review and response to supplier inquiries, protests and appeals
  • Negotiate appropriate terms and conditions, that are in accordance with the contractual and commercial framework and based on the cpmpany’s MSAs, Project Agreements etc.
  • Guide project/delivery teams in managing risk and  issue identification, escalation and resolution for global/local provider issues and through effective supplier management and business review meetings, where appropriate, to ensure ongoing assessments of overall ESP performance
  • This will involve liaising with the Business Relationship Managers
  • Ensure the Clinical Procurement Process is Compliant with all relevant regulatory and the company’s requirements e.g. Sarbanes Oxley, Code of Conduct, Financial Control Framework, GCP, Responsible Procurement, Supplier Sourcing Management Framework, etc.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years+ of Procurement experience
  • Procurement experience in the Clinical arena
  • Experience developing complex contracts
  • Experience with pharma/clinical research organizations a plus
  • A college degree
