- The Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) group consults with all of the MD&D Franchises to help demonstrate Value Proposition (Effectiveness and Affordability) for our products and services
- Healthcare Informatics team within the EBM group undertakes observational research to support development, launch and post-marketing assessment of MD&D products
- The team provides analytical services using large administrative, patient-level databases to answer a variety of question involving Clinical R&D, Safety, HEOR, Commercial Assessment and Marketing activities
- The principal goal of this position is to support EBM research analyzing patient-level database(s) to evaluate disease natural history, standard of care, cost/reimbursement patterns, market size, site of care, co-morbidities, clinical, safety and health economic outcomes for R&D decision support and assessment of new innovative technologies
- This position will work closely with colleagues within EBM team to formulate and address research questions using a variety of analytical and data-mining techniques
- The person will provide rapid analysis to help inform product related decisions at Franchise and GOC level
- The position will also help disseminate analytical information through white papers, publication in peer-reviewed literature, and reports for submission to regulatory and/or payor bodies
- PhD degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or a related field required
- Experience in Cost/Utilization analysis a plus
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with large administrative, patient-level databases is required
- Strong expertise in SAS is needed
- An understanding of observational and experimental study designs, as well as and quantitative methods is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, a strong publication/presentation record as well as ability to work independently is desirable
- Pharmaceutical/Medical Device industry experience preferred
