Norristown, PA - Sr. Network Analyst

Job Description:
The (Sr.) Corporate Network Analyst is responsible for ensuring a consistent and effective operation of the company’s electronic network, both internal (LAN) and external (WAN).  This includes the technical knowledge and competencies to design, maintain, and operation company networks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, distribute, install, test, maintain, and operate robust, expansible, local and wide area networking infrastructure
  • Identify, analyze, and manage problems occurring on components of network infrastructure
  • Design, distribute, install, test, maintain, and operate firewalls between critical systems and the company’s internal networks or Internet, including custom programmed proxies
  • Perform system administration functions (including custom operating system installation) on all the company’s firewall platforms
  • Recommend placement and configuration of firewalls
  • Design, distribute, install, test, maintain, and operate routers between critical systems and the company’s internal networks or Internet
  • Perform system administration functions on all the company’s router platforms
  • Recommend placement and configuration of routers
  • Design, distribute, install, test, maintain, and operate LAN hub and switching equipment between critical systems and the company’s internal networks
  • Perform system administration functions on all the company’s switching or hub platforms
  • Recommend placement and configuration of LAN hub and switching equipment
  • Design, distribute, install, test, maintain, and operate DNS infrastructure
  • Perform system administration functions on all the company’s DNS platforms
  • Recommend placement and configuration of DNS equipment
  • Design, distribute, install, test, maintain, and operate Network Management Tools used on critical systems and the company’s internal networks
  • Design, distribute, install, test, maintain, and operate the company’s Internet presence
  • Implement and administer network security to determine compliance with the company’s security practices
  • Evaluate IT network assets and identify how to protect them
  • Assist in research and design of solutions
  • Design, distribute and install solutions
  • Activate and verify implementation of new solution through testing and gaining of customer acceptance of solution
  • Maintain and communicate change information for all network platforms
  • Administer the company’s IP address space and Domain Name Registration
  • Build and develop strong relationships with ITS's business area clients by providing superior customer support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems; being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines; and generally promoting goodwill in a professional and trust-building manner
  • Assist in the creation of network level metrics
  • Operate systems in order to achieve publish service level metrics
REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated customer focus and awareness of the importance of the customer in a service organization
  • CCNA Certification
  • Ability to understand technical issues and develop documentation of technical policy statements, procedures, and processes
  • Minimum 8 years relevant, professional experience with 3 - 5 years of experience in Network Systems Management experience, Network Support, and Systems Administration
  • Network Systems management should include, but not be limited to the following vendor devices:
  • Cisco routing and switching products, Checkpoint products running NG and/or NGX, Nokia firewall products, F5 content switching and DNS products using v9.x+
  • Experience in support of Intranet, Internet, and firewall services for all systems
  • Ability to apply graphic design skills and tools in the composition of technical documentation including flow charts, diagrams, and presentation materials
  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Office tool set (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, and MS Project
  • Ability to work as a team/project member for multiple projects
  • Organizational, analytic, and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attentiveness to detail

  • Ability to develop network policies, standards, and procedures

  • Metrics development and maintenance

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to train, guide, or assist others to perform complex studies
