Groton, CT - Nonclinical Statistician

Job Description:

• Pharmaceutical company needs a statistician for a 1-year contract
• The successful applicant will be working in a nonclinical group supporting assay, formulation and manufacturing process development and transition to manufacturing, as well as working with manufacturing

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4-7 years of experience with Statistical Analysis
• An MS or PhD in Statistics
• MS/PhD courses in linear models and statistical experimental design
• An MS in statistics with application experience is required; knowledge of linear models/DoE is required
• 3+ Experience analyzing data, especially DOE data, in a scientific laboratory, engineering, chemical, agricultural, or manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated ability to write programs and analyze data using SAS and/or R (ability in both is an extra plus)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• This is not a SAS/R programmer role, the incumbent will work with project statisticians serving as a consultant/data analyst and will need strong data analyzing experience
• Knowledge of SAS is not required.  Knowledge of SAS and/or R is required and we would more likely want the person to have knowledge of R over SAS

The following are also desired:

• Nonclinical Pharmaceutical experience.
• Other programming experience or web applications background (VB or VBA, Perl or Python, C, Java, web tools)
• Knowledge of other statistical analysis packages (SAS-JMP, Statgraphics, and Design Expert)
• Consulting experience
• Physical science/engineering background or training (chemistry, materials science, pharmacy, mechanical or chemical engineering)
